Storm Goretti is predicted to bring more snowfall and strong winds today as the Met Office issues amber and yellow weather warnings for large swathes of the UK. As much as 30cm of snow could fall in the Midlands while gusts of up to 90mph could batter more exposed areas as the weather brings a potential risk to life in parts of the country.

Heavy snow is expected across large parts of South Yorkshire on Thursday evening as Storm Goretti arrives in the UK.
